From “Operation San Gennaro” with Nino Manfredi to “Milan Caliber 9” by Fernando Di Leo and “ The Bird with the Crystal Plumage” by Dario Argento, from “The Tin Drum” to “I Knew Her Well”.

The prolific and versatile Swiss actor Mario Adorf, the star of over 200 films, including crime thrillers, noir films, and Italian arthouse films, particularly in the 1960s and 1970s, died at the age of 95 in his Paris apartment.

This was confirmed by DPA, citing manager Michael Stark.

Adorf was born in Zurich, the son of a German mother and an Italian father, on September 8, 1930. He had recently fallen ill, according to his wife.

He had worked with Luigi Comencini, Antonio Pietrangeli, Dino Risi, Valerio Zurlini, Franco Rossi, Renato Castellani and Luigi Zampa, and then in several films and television miniseries, such as "La piovra 4", "Fantaghirò" and "Marco Polo".
