Mourning in the world of music: Franco Gatti , nicely known by all as the "mustache" of the Rich and the Poor, died in Genoa .

He was 80 years old .

He had not been part of the group for some time, music was no longer a priority starting in 2013, when he lost his son Alessio, a young life cut short by a fatal mix of alcohol and drugs.

But for a very long time his "artistic" family was that of the Rich and the Poor together with Angelo Sotgiu, a native of Trinità d'Agultu , and Angela Brambati , the "brunette". For a period, Marina Occhiena was also part of the group, who then chose a different career due to various differences.

The quartet that became a trio has known decades of successes that have made several generations sing: "Mamma Maria", "It will be because I love you", "The first beautiful thing", "What will be", "Voulez vous danser", "If I fall in love ”, A song that led them to win the Sanremo Festival in 1985.

And there are countless evenings that have cheered, always loved by a very large audience, who will not forget his "mustache".

"A piece of our life has gone away. Hi Franco", is the last message from Angela and Angelo for their lifelong friend and colleague.
