The Sardinian tennis world is in mourning. This morning, after a long illness, Vincenzo Celli, former director of the Sardinian Regional Committee of the Tennis Federation in the 1990s and 1990s, passed away. He was 88 years old.

A passionate tennis enthusiast, initially a manager at his club, the Gs Monopoli di Stato in Cagliari, then co-opted by President Gianfelice Pilo in 1985 to join the regional Tennis Federation, he has always been involved in youth activities, accompanying the island's top talents at national and international events. He also worked for many years during Antonello Montaldo's presidency, with his ever-present good-natured smile. A life dedicated to tennis: the most important youth tournament in Sardinia, held annually on the Saline courts in Cagliari and awarding the regional category titles, is named in memory of his long-deceased wife, Emma Angelina, a highly esteemed umpire. Vincenzo Celli's children, Stefania and Gianni, also played at a high level in the region, and the entire Sardinian tennis movement extends their condolences.
