For an entire generation of Italians who grew up in the 1980s and 1990s, he wasn't just a puppet, but an afternoon companion who, together with Paolo Bonolis, animated one of the most beloved programs of all time : Uan, the pink dog so beloved by children, loses his "dad" Enrico Valenti , who died yesterday at the age of 71.

A career closely tied to the universe of "Bim Bum Bam" and the birth of commercial children's television. In 1980, together with Kitty Perria, Valenti founded Gruppo 80, an animation company that became a hotbed of creativity, also giving rise to other characters such as the puppets Four and Five, mascots of the television networks of the same name.

But it was with Uan that Valenti made his mark. The puppet, a long-eared dog, made his television debut in 1983 , immediately becoming the mascot of "Bim Bum Bam." He was moved by the animators of Gruppo 80, while his iconic voice was given by Giancarlo Muratori, who later also became one of the show's writers.

Alongside him was a very young Paolo Bonolis, who would then be followed until 2000 by a long line of presenters.
