A serious mourning has hit the restaurant sector today, which says goodbye to Fabio Picchi, the founding chef of one of the most important Italian restaurants, the Cibreo in Florence.

67 years old, Picchi was also a writer and well-known face of TV. He has participated in programs such as "Geo" and has been a guest of various programs on La7.

He opened his restaurant in 1979 and left the management to his son a year ago.

Deep pain was expressed by the mayor of Florence, Dario Nardella: “His death leaves us all stunned, deeply saddened. For me Fabio was a point of reference in the Florentine community and a true friend. His talent, his passion for life and for his work, sensitivity towards environmental issues, social inclusion made Fabio a real person, animated by the desire to participate in the Florentine community ".

The chef also dedicated himself to theater and to a project on quality food production.
