More minerals and oil, less agricultural products.

Refining and extraction are the economic sectors that, with their boom, make Sardinia's exports soar, which grew in 2022 by 73.9% compared to 2021 (the first nine months of each year are considered). The latest Istat survey says it: it establishes that the island, while growing, covers just 1.5% of the market leaving the national territory.

The most general sign, very marked, derives from the 140.2% increase in the export of «products of the extraction of minerals from quarries and mines». Trade in coke and petroleum products doubled (99.9%).

Also "important", but only on a statistical level, is the increase in furniture produced here and sold elsewhere (+59%). But we are talking about such a low market share that it is not even classified at a national level. Suffice it to say that for oil, the island, with Saras, covers over 30% of national exports.

On the other hand, the export of "agricultural, forestry and fishing products" collapsed: 25% less than last year left the island.

«In the period January-September 2022 - explain from Istat - the growth on an annual basis of exports is very strong (+21.2%) and widespread at a territorial level, albeit with different intensities: the increase in exports is very high for the Islands (+69.2%), around the national average for the Center (+23.9%) and the North-West (+20.2%), relatively more contained for the North-East (+17, 7%) and the South (+15.3%)».

The Island flies higher thanks to oil.
