A few hours before the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, underway in Malmo, Sweden, the Dutch artist Joost Klein, competing with "Europapa", was disqualified. The decision was taken after the Swedish police opened an investigation into the complaint of "intimidation" lodged by a member of the production crew. Klein, according to the accusations, addressed sexist insults to her.

«While the legal proceedings take their course, it would not be appropriate for him to continue in the competition - reads a note from the organizers - We would like to clarify that, contrary to what has been reported by some media and speculation on social media, this episode did not involve no other artists or members of the delegation." « We maintain a zero tolerance policy towards inappropriate behavior during our event - continues the statement - and are committed to providing a safe and secure working environment for all Competition staff. In light of this, Joost Klein's behavior towards a team member is considered contrary to the rules of the Competition. The final of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest will now proceed with 25 participating songs."
