Gregorio Paltrinieri triumphs at the Foro Italico in Rome where the European swimming championships are underway. The blue champion gets his hands on gold in the 800 meters freestyle, reaching the finish line in 7: 40.86 and signing the new championship record. Also exults the very young (16 years old) Roman Lorenzo Galossi, bronze with 7: 43.37, silver to the German Lukas Maertens (7: 42.65).

Also in evidence Lucrezia Ruggiero and Giorgio Minisini, gold medal in the free mixed duo.
