An altar with 5 thousand years of history and the restoration center that reassembled the Giants of Mont'e Prama . They can be visited free of charge on Saturday, upon reservation, as part of the European Heritage Days, the largest and most popular cultural event in Europe.
The Municipality of Sassari offers a guided tour of the archaeological area of Monte d'Accoddi from 5.30 to 7.30 pm, along the road to Porto Torres. In the area of the pre-nuraghic altar, which dates back to 3,000 BC, the presence of numerous fragments of ritual meal remains, in particular mollusc shells and various types of finds, will not only tell the activities related to the cult , but in general the daily life between the IV and III millennium BC, in an archaeological context of extraordinary interest for its uniqueness. Visits are allowed to 20 people at a time.
The Municipality of Sassari also offers the possibility from 18.30 to 19.30 of a guided tour of the Town Hall , to discover the museum and exhibition spaces and learn about the activity carried out by Giuseppe Cominotti in Sassari .
The Superintendence of Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Sassari and Nuoro instead opens its doors from 6 to 9 pm, always on Saturday, to welcome visitors to the exhibition gallery of its Restoration Center (in Li Punti ) and to present the object materials. intervention, the conservation and restoration practices, the new restorations of the objects recovered in the interventions in progress on the territory.
