First the Italian Alessandro Sibilio wins the silver medal in the 400 hs race of the European Championships in Rome, running in 47"50, a new Italian record. Gold goes to the Norwegian Karsten Warholm, dominator of the discipline and Olympic champion.

In the end, to close the great Italian evening, Gianmarco Tamberi wins gold in the high jump. The Olympic champion, after hesitating at 2.26 and 2.29, surpasses 2.31 on the first attempt and then jumps again, with all the others already eliminated. First 2.34, then the show: he takes the springs out of his shoes, also jumps to 2.37 and surpasses it on the first attempt, sending the stadium into raptures and becoming champion with a wide gap compared to the second, the Ukrainian Lavskyy, who doesn't go over 2.29. For Italy, Tamberi's is the tenth gold of this edition of the European Championships which sees us dominating the medal table.
