A meeting on the Eurallumina project in Portovesme is scheduled for today in Rome.

A delegation of 50 workers will meet with the unions at the Ministry of Enterprise to demand the release of funding to ensure the factory's continuity or the lifting of sanctions against the Russian-owned company Rusal.

Meanwhile, yesterday the regional council approved a resolution on the actions to be taken to support workers in Portovesme and the entire affected area and to urge the national government to intervene.

Industry Councillor Emanuele Cani expressed his appreciation for the resolution and confidence in the meeting with the Government, reiterating "the need for a new paradigm for industrial policies at the national level and the importance of considering aluminum production strategically important. The reopening of Eurallumina," he said, "means reactivating an entire supply chain across the country."
