«The need to quickly resolve the blocking of community payments for hundreds of agricultural businesses in Sardinia , due to the use of the new National Soil Map , is an emergency that cannot be postponed and that we strongly expressed a few days ago to the Regional Agency Argea Sardegna during a meeting organized in Cagliari».

The director of Confagricoltura Sardegna, Giambattista Monne , raised the alarm. He explains: «The application of the new card has caused many critical issues in the processing of the files and therefore in the presentation of the applications themselves. A state of affairs that has also imposed an extraordinary effort on the offices of the Agricultural Assistance Centers (CAA), in terms of size and duration, and for which we have asked Argea for a commitment to ensure that this situation does not recur».

"We have reported - continues Monne - how there are hundreds of applications blocked due to the reclassification of grazing areas and for which the blocking anomalies prevent payment. Therefore, with these latest developments, an extremely important achievement for the Sardinian agricultural production system has been called into question, where centuries-old practices of land use were recognized and which - concludes Monne - cannot be nullified by the application of the card ".
