Esperia Cagliari completes its tall players department with another top-tier signing. The rossoblù club has officially announced the signing of Riccardo Carta, a 203cm winger/pivot born in 2003, fresh from his last season in Serie B with Orzinuovi.

Born in Thiene, in the province of Vicenza, Carta completed a high-level youth program at Virtus Bologna and Reggiana. In 2022, he made his senior debut with Imola, followed by stints with Crema, Fabriano, Agrigento, and, last season, Orzinuovi, all in the third division. A versatile left-handed player, he can operate both close to the basket and out wide on the perimeter, providing coach Federico Manca with different options than Tommaso De Gregori.

Carta joins the other signings already finalized by Esperia, who in recent weeks had brought Luca Sanna, Ezio Gallizzi and De Gregori himself to Cagliari.

With the forward department now established, the management's attention shifts to the final major transfer objective: the signing of a foreign player to add further quality to the roster for the upcoming Serie B Interregionale championship.
