Enzo Favata and Atlantico present their new album in Alghero.

He chose his hometown, Alghero, to present the new album by the quintet Atlantico, which at the end of the 20th century sold over 50,000 copies thanks to a language that blended jazz, chamber dynamics, and improvisation with the sounds of the Mediterranean and Latin America.

Tomorrow at 9 pm, at the Lo Quarter in Alghero, Enzo Favata will pay homage to the public with the preview of "Ritornare" , the work due out on September 18, 2026 on the prestigious ECM Records , one of the leading record labels for jazz and international contemporary music.

Atlantico's history began in 1999 , an idea by Enzo Favata, along with Daniele di Bonaventura, Marcello Peghin, Salvatore Maltana, and UT Gandhi . In 2024, Enzo Favata reunited the band, bringing Atlantico back to the stage. From this new encounter, Ritornare was born, which takes the musical identity developed by the group since its origins and reworks it in light of the experiences gained individually by the five musicians over the years.

In the new album, jazz, chamber music, and improvisation coexist with the multiple musical languages of the Mediterranean. Enzo Favata 's saxophone and clarinets, Daniele di Bonaventura 's bandoneon, Marcello Peghin 's guitar, Salvatore Maltana 's double bass, and the drums of the recently deceased U. T. Gandhi construct an acoustic landscape linked to the themes of travel, memory, and imagination.

The album was recorded in January 2026 at Bavaria Studios in Munich and produced by ECM founder Manfred Eicher .

The September 1st concert in Alghero will feature Enzo Favata on saxophone and clarinet, Daniele di Bonaventura on bandoneon, Marcello Peghin on guitar, and Salvatore Maltana on double bass. The event is part of the 26th Musica sulle Bocche Festival.

After the release of Ritornare , Atlantico will be on tour: Venice on October 31st, Moncalieri on November 5th, Udine on November 6th, Milan on November 7th, Lanusei on November 12th, Cagliari on November 13th, Oristano on November 14th, Sassari on November 15th and Rome on November 16th. The tour will then continue in Vilnius on November 29th, before reaching Africa with dates in Maputo on December 5th and Addis Ababa on December 7th.
