The Democratic Party will ask the Sardinia Region to challenge the national budget law , once it has also obtained the green light from the Senate.
The reasons, illustrated this morning by MPs Marco Meloni and Silvio Lai and by the Dem group leader in the Regional Council Gianfranco Ganau , are linked to the choices of the center-right government in the field of energy .
In fact, they recalled, the Government preferred to reduce VAT from 22% to 5% for district heating , which only affects Northern Italy , rather than reducing VAT for Regions that do not have methane , just as an amendment of the dem requested Sardinians.
«Once again – said Ganau – Sardinia suffers an injustice on energy . The conditions exist for us to ask the President of the Region to defend the rights of the Sardinians and therefore to challenge the national budget law on the energy issue . It would demonstrate that he is really on the side of the Sardinians and that he has an interest in defending the island's prerogatives. It is a commitment that we take on as regional councilors and we will present a motion shortly ».
