A crime planned for months, preceded by a failed first attempt, carried out by exploiting the victim's trust. The motives were diverse: strong disagreements and a desire for revenge, intertwined with a romantic and professional connection. Alleged warrants and suspects, according to investigators' theories, alternated between romantic and professional relationships.
This is the picture that emerges from the 20-page order with which the investigating judge of the Court of Sassari, Giuseppe Grotteria, ordered the pre-trial detention in prison of the four people accused of the murder of Marco Pusceddu , the 118 emergency worker killed by gunshots on August 7, 2025. A fifth person is under investigation at large for aiding and abetting.
According to the judge, who granted the requests of Deputy Prosecutor Elisa Succu, the deadly attack was motivated by resentments and conflicts that had developed between the victim and her ex-partner Maria Cristina Falchi , 57, from Iglesias, as well as with someone she believed to be her friend, Ramon Pirosu , 45, from Carbonia, a colleague of the victim. According to the precautionary measure, they paid approximately 15,000 euros to Bronzo Ahmetovic , 42, and Dejane Hadzovic , 26, the two members of the gang that actually went to Buddusò to commit the crime.
A murder that—at least according to investigators— was born out of Pirosu's resentment , motivated by envy toward his colleague and "friend" Pusceddu, whom he sought to replace in every way, particularly in his personal life, by engaging in a clandestine relationship with Maria Cristina Falchi, the victim's ex-partner, while simultaneously maintaining an intimate relationship with Marta Cadeddu, Pusceddu's lover. The latter is under investigation at large for aiding and abetting.
