Three clear winners for the 75th edition of the Emmy awards . “ Succession ”, “ The Bear ” and “ Beef - The Clasheach won in their own category , leaving the contenders almost empty-handed.

The fourth and final season of the Roy saga won six statuettes, including those for best drama series, for the protagonists, Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook, and for the supporting actor Matthew Macfadyen. Jesse Armstrong, creator of the HBO show, won his fourth Emmy for best drama writing, one for each year of production.

The only advance drama series honor went to Jennifer Coolidge , who for the second year in a row won best supporting actress in “White Lotus.”

Nothing to do for the Italians Sabrina Impacciatore and Simona Tabasco , who starred in the second season of the same series, filmed in Taormina.

The first season of “The Bear” (the second will have to be nominated in the next edition) was the winner among comedies, with six trophies. The most prestigious, the one for the best comedy series of the past season.

Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who plays alongside him as his troublesome cousin, and Ayo Edebiri, the willing chef who helps him in the kitchen, won the awards for best protagonist and best supporting actors. Christopher Storer (absent due to Covid) who directed and wrote the FX/Hulu series shot in Chicago was awarded for direction and screenplay. Even in the comedy category, only one mention went to a rival: Quinta Brunson was considered Best Actress in a Leading Role . The star of ABC's "Abbott Elementary" is the first African-American woman to win this recognition since Isabel Sanford in 1981 for "The Jeffersons".

The miniseries "Beef", created by the Korean Lee Sung-jin for Netflix, won all the prizes up for grabs in its category: best screenplay, best direction and above all best limited series. The two protagonists Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, who play two strangers whose involvement in a car accident turns into a prolonged feud, raised the statuette for best actor and best actress, respectively.

The Emmys are usually held in September, but this year they were postponed due to strikes that paralyzed Hollywood until November. They fell right after the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards, which awarded almost the same names.

The show took place live on Fox (Sky and Now in Italy) from the Peacock theater in Downtown Los Angeles . Three hours that alternated comedy sketches by the presenter, Anthony Anderson, cast reunions such as that of "All in the Family" or "Ally McBeal", a touching memory of Norman Lee and Matthew Perry and frequent tributes to the talent of the African-American community .
