A reward for the talent, beauty, and sentiment that each artist sought to express in their work, from photographers to painters, from sculptors to graphic designers, a creative capacity greatly appreciated by over three hundred visitors, a large audience that responded successfully to the initiative. This was the three-day ArteEmergente, the artistic exhibition dedicated to the promotion of young Sardinian talent , which concluded in Porto Torres a few days ago. The event was organized by Manuel Mainetti, director and creator of the exhibition, in collaboration with the Basilica of San Gavino and the Biccheddu Foundation.

The award for best work went to Liliana Gallo, 30, who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, with recognition for her painting “Colazione” (Breakfast), the public award to Giuseppe Pirino, a 34-year-old self-taught artist from Porto Torres, for his drawing “L'obbligo della Gorgone” (The Obligation of the Gorgon), and an honorable mention to 25-year-old Matilde Nuvoli, a student from Sassari at the Academy of Fine Arts, for her original sculpture “àcula”.

The exhibition, held at the Cumbessias of San Gavino, in the spaces of the Chapter House and the Sant'Antonio Hall, within the complex adjacent to the Basilica, featured, among many other works, ten in competition, all contemporary works by emerging artists, in addition to the award-winning artists Martina Biasi, Stanislao Satta Ardisson, Christian Lisai, Alice Castriotta, Eleonora Cleriti, Cristiano Salis, and IcoloRiVeri. The awards ceremony took place on Sunday, following the evaluation of a qualified jury composed of City Council President Franco Satta, painter Pia Ruggiu, photographer Angelo Balestrieri, and presenter and member of the Pro Loco, Pier Luigi Fiori.

"The true work of art within ArteEmergente isn't just the individual fragment of beauty that each painter, sculptor, or director creates in their individual journey, but the event itself. A project conceived and structured to move across the territory, traversing it, and enhancing it, bringing art to the places that express our identity ," commented Manuel Mainetti.

Now in its fourth year, the event has visited towns such as Banari, Bessude, and Porto Torres, always choosing locations of great artistic and symbolic value . These places become an integral part of the work, helping to create an authentic dialogue between art, territory, and community.

"The true work of art is, above all, the opportunity offered to young Sardinian talents," he added, "too often undervalued or deprived of real opportunities for visibility, to exhibit and engage with each other thanks to collaboration with municipal administrations, local authorities, cultural and religious organizations. In this sense, Emerging Art is not just an exhibition, but a concrete act of valorization of our region and our artists. Because every time a young artist leaves Sardinia, we lose a piece of our beauty and our identity. Thanks go to Monsignor Salvatore Masia for his hospitality and to Donatello Sanna for his support."
