Elmas, Di Battista presents "Schierarsi": «We are not a party, battles for the environment, social struggles for the future»
Many former 5 Star voters, disappointed by the Movement's choices and strategies, will assistIn Elmas, at the Maria Carta theater, to present the projects of the cultural association Schierarsi. Alessandro Di Battista, in the recent past one of the souls of the 5 Star Movement, is now back in the field with an association that - the founder assures - is not a party (who knows). For him in Elmas much applause, a warm welcome. In the theater that can accommodate a maximum of 200 people there is not a free seat.
Many former 5 Star voters were present, disappointed by the choices and strategies of the Movement . With him, the president of the association Luca Di Giuseppe, the treasurer Danilo Puliani, the Sardinian representatives Marina Pomodoro and Donato Martiello. Di Battista looks with detachment, as an ex, at what is happening inside what was his political home: «The internal struggles do not interest me. It seems like a distant life. I do not deny anything. It is an experience that has shaped me, but it is part of my past».
Very attentive to foreign policy, now at the center of his interests with the Israeli-Palestinian question, very harsh with the State of Israel: "A terrorist State. The Israelis have killed 45,000 people in Gaza and thousands in the West Bank, as occupiers. We have collected 78,000 for the popular initiative law for the recognition of the State of Palestine , a sacrosanct goal for the Palestinian people.
Alessandro Di Battista does not express judgments on the Council led by Alessandra Todde, the first to lead 5 Stars in Italy. And before saying goodbye to the journalists and receiving the embrace of supporters, a thought for the mobilizations for the environment against speculation, like the one that many Sardinians are facing to counter the wind and photovoltaic assault: «They are social struggles for the future» .
