The culture of peace and nonviolence arrives at the Maria Carta Theater in Elmas on the occasion of the eighth edition of the "Love Sharing Festival". The event, the first of its kind at an international level, includes events from October 19th to the 23rd. The common thread will be the nonviolent approach to the resolution of conflicts, public and private, social and political, expressed in multiple versions. The theme of the event, organized by Theandric Teatro Nonviolento (an innovation and experimentation company in the field of political theatre) under the artistic direction of Maria Virginia Siriu, this year will focus on the title "Seeds of Peace".

«The eighth edition of the Love Sharing Festival – explains Siriu – is dedicated this year to the theme of peace education for the young generations. The 2023 program will develop, through performances for elementary and high schools and the presentation of two literary works, in a path in which the formal and informal moments of peace education will be focused ."

The eighth edition of Love Sharing will be officially inaugurated tomorrow at 11.15am with the work “What a spectacle on the bridges!” of the Compagni di Viaggio theater company (show for schools), with Federico Clerico, Costanza Frola, Riccardo Gili and Alessandra Minchillo, with the text and direction by Riccardo Gili. The project combines drama and science to teach graph theory to secondary school students. In the first hour, the interactive comedy inspired by the problem of the Königsberg bridges and the mathematician Euler will be staged. The second part will propose a multimedia conference that delves into the fundamental aspects of graph theory and its social implications. The initiative is the result of the collaboration between the Compagni di Viaggio theater company and the Department of Mathematics of the University of Turin.

At 6.30 pm there will be the presentation of the publication "Nonviolent Journalism" with the author Olivier Turquet, and the participation of Carlo Bellisai, (Movimento Nonviolento Sardegna) and Simone Spiga (Report Sardegna 24). The book shows the collective efforts of professionals, activists and volunteers who propose a nonviolent approach to communication. The topic will be analyzed with one of the editors of the international news agency PRESSENZA. It will be possible to grasp the importance of a humanizing approach in the current context, with a view to training for the new generations of educators and journalists. A repeat of “What a show on the bridges!” is scheduled for Friday 20 October at 11.30am. of the Compagni di Viaggio theater company, once again for the event dedicated to schools, and will continue in the afternoon with another editorial presentation: at 6.30 pm we will discover the publication “In full bloom. Acting to build cultures of peace”, by Elise Boulding and Daisaku Ikeda, with Elsa Pascalis (GIULIA journalists) and interventions by Corrado Lacava (Soka Gakkai Italia). Finding the way to make peace the only possible horizon is the passionate theme of the dialogue proposed by the book. Through the various "flowering" experiences on the world stage, including institutions such as the United Nations and UNESCO, Ikeda and Boulding build the experiential theorem of a peaceful society: focusing on non-violence education, underlining the importance of building supportive communities, «cultivate mutual acceptance», clearly explain that «happiness cannot be found without contributing to the happiness of others». Delicately, and even poetically, the dialogue itself is the vivid image of how the commitment of every single person is able to determine the development of a better future. Far from complaints and pessimism, this dialogue clarifies that the possible we want is a job to be done and that this work can change social scenarios. Martin Luther King's phrase on the cover explains this well: «We must use our minds to plan for peace as rigorously as we have done so far to plan for war».

For the grand finale on Sunday 22 October, "The Little Prince" will be staged at 6pm (in a depatriarchalized version) with the adaptation and direction by Maria Virginia Siriu and the actors Antonio Luciano, Andrea Vargiu and Fabrizio Congia. The most read and loved story of all time therefore arrives on the stage in a ritual that builds, as only theater can do, a close relationship between actors and spectators, to explore infinite worlds together. A repeat performance is scheduled for schools on Monday 23rd.
