The name is circulating persistently. And at Sogaer, the company that manages Cagliari airport, scheduled for privatization by September 2026, a new management structure is being drawn up. This management structure, if confirmed, aligns perfectly with the airport's sale agreed upon between the Chamber of Commerce, the current majority shareholder, and the F2i Ligantia investment fund, the future majority shareholder. All of this, according to the Term Sheet, the preliminary agreement, with the approval of the Region, which is ready to buy into the company for €30 million. "A public investment with no public interest," Forza Italia criticizes.
The changeover
Sogaer is currently led by Fabio Mereu, CEO since 2024, who completed the five-million-passenger milestone at Cagliari's Mameli Airport. Riccardo Kustermann, fresh from his departure from SEA, the joint stock company that manages Linate and Malpensa airports, has been appointed to the helm. F2i holds a 45.01% stake (the Municipality of Milan holds 54.81%, with "other shareholders" holding 0.18%, according to the website). Kustermann, if appropriate, would join Sogaer after the 2025 budget is approved (which by law must be finalized by June 30). A former SEA employee already works at the Cagliari-based management company: David Crognaletti, commercial director since February 2016. Sogaer's 2024 financial year brought in €10 million in profits and a 6.3% increase in passengers.
