The resignation of Eliseo Secchi, the FIPAV Sardinia Committee's resident, has been officially announced. Secci, who has led the Sardinian Regional Committee since 2021, was serving his second term as president after being re-elected in 2025. Secci himself announced the news in a letter sent to all affiliated clubs. As required by the Bylaws, the Assembly must convene within 90 days of his resignation.
"These have been years filled with sporting success," Secci writes in the letter, "with numerous results : ten teams in the national championships, 165 clubs, 1,718 managers, 12,500 athletes, 550 coaches, 196 referees; 32 teams in Serie C and 59 in Serie D.
I leave behind a Regional Committee led by the Vice President and composed of capable individuals who will lead the movement through this transitional phase with passion and expertise. I am very pleased with your support, that of all my collaborators and the Territorial Committees, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone.
We worked as a team, contributing to the further development of our sport , and thanks to a prudent budget policy, we were able to purchase the new headquarters without sacrificing the resources for qualification and the many events we organized. I hope that Sardinian volleyball will continue its work of growing and spreading our sport with the passion and unity that has always characterized us.
