Two musicians with extraordinary sensitivity, united on stage by an interplay rich in nuances and dynamics: Thursday at the Bflat in Cagliari it will be time for a new appointment of " A tu per duo ", the spring festival promoted by Forma e Poesia nel Jazz , with the guitar and piano duet of Eleonora Strino and Claudio Vignali . Taking place from 9pm at the jazz club in via del Pozzetto 9 , the concert will also be an opportunity for the artists to preview some songs from " Lumithia ", Strino's new album due out on 5 June on the Cam Jazz label.
This event will also be the final date of "A tu per duo," a festival centered on one of the most essential and intriguing forms of improvisational music: the sonic dialogue between two people . After hosting the duos of Silvia Manco and Antonello Sorrentino , and then Karima and Walter Ricci , it's now Strino and Vignali's turn to team up.
Considered by genre critics as one of the most promising young talents on the European and overseas jazz scene – as also evidenced by the cover dedicated to her, in 2020, by the American magazine " Jazz Guitar Today " – the guitarist Strino already boasts tours in Europe, North America and Brazil, as well as prestigious collaborations, such as the one with Greg Cohen and Joey Baron in " I Got Strings " (2023), her first album as a bandleader.
This album was followed by " Matilde "; released in February 2025 and recorded in a quartet with Giulio Corini (double bass), Zeno De Rossi (drums) and Vignali himself on piano. Not only that, but Strino is also a regular member of Dado Moroni's ensemble , Emanuele Cisi's quartet together with the actor Filippo Timi , Cohen's trio and finally the band The Great Guitarist , in a tireless activity that combines concerts, recordings and even teaching , in Italy and abroad: it is precisely in this direction that he developed the " Bebop Scales for Jazz Guitar " teaching method, which has spread throughout the world.
These unique and rare qualities will find a fitting counterpart in the interpretative flair of Vignali , a pianist with extraordinary technique and a colorful, expressive touch. Graduated with honors in classical and jazz piano, the artist boasts titles on both fronts, winning the " Lions Italia " classical music competition in 2011 and taking the podium at the " Parmigiani Montreux International Jazz " piano solo competition.
The awards are accompanied by numerous prominent collaborations, with artists such as Dave Weckl , Gretchen Parlato , Rob Mazurek , Michel Godard , Fabrizio Bosso and many others, and the various recordings: among these " Piano Solo Live " (2023) and the very recent " Argentialia " with Javier Girotto and " Flow ", in trio with Frank Martino (eight-string guitar) and Marco Frattini (drums) plus special guests.
