The first meeting of the center-left coalition's policy table ahead of the upcoming general elections took place today, "in a positive and collaborative atmosphere."

A "concrete discussion, which starts from the joint work already developed in Parliament and from the proposals put forward in recent years by various political forces, including those not present in Parliament," reads a joint statement from the coalition forces, which also includes Italia Viva.

The work will begin with the creation of ten thematic tables that will be working with representatives of the political forces starting in the next few days.

The shared objective, the note reads, is " to conclude this first phase by the end of November, to define the foundations of a government project for Italy , based on the country's economic, social and democratic priorities."

The meeting was attended by the parliamentary group leaders and representatives of the political forces taking part in the process: Chiara Braga and Francesco Boccia for the Democratic Party ; Riccardo Ricciardi and Luca Pirondini for the Five Star Movement ; Luana Zanella and Peppe De Cristofaro for the Green and Left Alliance ; Maria Elena Boschi and Raffaella Paita for Italia Viva Casa Riformista . Also present were Benedetto Della Vedova for +Europa , Bruno Tabacci for Più Uno , Marco Mistretta for Progetto Civico per l'Italia and Gerardo Labellarte for the PSI .
