The second edition of the Philosophical Dialogue Festival in Olbia. Today will be divided between moments of reflection and training in Philosophy for Children, a practice born from the philosophical-pedagogical commitment of Matthew Lipman (an American philosopher with a pragmatist background), one of the most significant and widespread contemporary educational methodology in Italy and in the world.

According to this practice, a class group is transformed into a research community capable of sharing ideas, values, visions of the world in a democratic and equal manner, rejecting the logic of violence and oppression, in favor of the logic of listening, of respectful discussion of other and its diversity, good reasons.

For this reason, P4C is supported by the Division of Philosophy of UNESCO, as it responds to the promotion of life skills identified by the UN and Unicef as a prerequisite for every socio-cultural context; It is initially aimed at children, and then extends to teenagers and adults. The reception of the Festival, at 9 am in the Primary School in via Vignola, is entrusted to Francesca Demuro, director of IV Circolo, and Luigi Antolini, director of Liceo L. Mossa. In the first round table "How to educate in/to complexity?", moderated by Fabio Mulas (IISG.Brotzu Quartu Sant'Elena and CRIF vice-president), the Uniss teacher, DiegoZucca, Maria Miraglia, teacher of the Federico II of Naples and teacher educator will take part. P4C and Anna Masala, teacher educator, teacher at “DeSanctis Deledda” in Cagliari.

The P4C sessions will be facilitated by Filomena Cinus, Giulia Ferrari, Maria Letizia Molla, Barbara Spanu. In conclusion, the testimonies of the projects carried out in the area, created by the students and teachers of the Liceo Mossa in Olbia with the pupils of the primary school in via Vignola. In the afternoon, starting from 3pm, the work continues at the ERA Kindergarden nursery school, where the director, Marianna Degortes, will present the work of the young pupils.

This is followed by the open dialogue "Educating complex thinking with community philosophical practice" with Filomena Cinus (ICPalau- teacher educator in P4C), Barbara Spanu (Liceo L.Mossa di Olbia, teacher educator P4C), Maria Miraglia and Giulia Ferrari (IC Arzachena 1 – teacher P4C). The Festival ends with training in Philosophy for children. «The second edition was born from the excellent feedback obtained last year – underlines Barbara Spanu – the practice of P4C allows you to address important and profound issues from an early age, teaches you to think with your own head and allows dialogue while feeling listened to and respected» . Entrance to the event, sponsored by the Municipality of Olbia, is free.
