The Fim E-bike Enduro World Cup is ready to land in Sardinia, in Baunei, for a "world" weekend.
On Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th, the Ogliastra municipality will host the second round of the FIM E-Bike World Cup, a prestigious event that will see the discipline's top riders battle it out, within seconds, along enduro courses set in a breathtaking landscape, where wild and unspoiled nature is reflected in the crystal-clear waters of one of the most admired, awarded, and appreciated seas in the world.
Enduro Day participants will also have the opportunity to discover these places , taking part in a non-competitive event on Saturday morning, a perfect blend of sport and cycle tourism. Free practice will take place on Saturday afternoon, a prelude to the intense and thrilling Sunday, which, with the GP of Sardinia, will award coveted and valuable championship points to competitors competing for the World Cup.
The FIM E-bike Enduro World Cup is part of the packed Spring in the Heart of Sardinia program , a prestigious event promoted by the Nuoro Chamber of Commerce and the Nuoro Chamber of Commerce Special Agency, which in this case involves the Municipality of Baunei. The event is also supported by the Regional Department of Tourism, Crafts, and Commerce.
Aspen President Roberto Cadeddu states: "The combination of unique landscapes, hospitality, culture, and major events represents a strategic lever for promoting local areas and deseasonalizing tourist flows. We are convinced that this initiative can offer a significant opportunity for visibility for the communities involved and for the entire region."
Regional Tourism Councilor Franco Cuccureddu adds: "When sport meets the culture, traditions, and identity of a region, an extraordinarily effective combination for tourism promotion is created. Baunei, with its landscape and cultural heritage, demonstrates how these elements can blend into a unique experience."
The Sardinian GP will start at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday from Santa Maria Navarrese and will include a double lap along a 34-kilometer course with an elevation gain of 1,596 meters. On the first lap, riders will complete the three special stages "Locorbu," "Scoine," and "Surrele," while on the second, starting at 11:50 a.m., they will again tackle the "Scoine" and "Surrele" special stages. The awards ceremony will take place in Santa Maria Navarrese at 4:00 p.m.
