Bonn goes to the Champions League, Sassari is diverted to the Europe Cup, the minor FIBA cup. In Antalya, Turkey, the decisive game sees the Germans win 78-71. The turning point in a very tough game was the 17-1 run in the third quarter that allowed Bonn to put the game on the downhill . The 40 points of the Bendzius-Halilovic duo were not enough, since Fobbs was disastrous at shooting (1/8) and Sokolowski scored only 2 points.

The Germans are better at the start, with Banco having great difficulty in attack: 3-8 at 5'. The entrance of Tambone in place of a cold-handed Fobbs and center Halilovic for the light Renfro allow Dinamo to take the inertia and go ahead by 5 points with Bendzius making 3/3 from the arc.

In the second quarter Bonn relies on the talent of Mc Ghee to recover and overtake, but a triple by Cappelletti (Bibbins has three fouls) and the usual Halilovic allow the Sassari team to stay ahead even after half the game: 33-32. And that's not a small thing considering that Fobbs, Sokolowski and Renfro didn't score.

The third quarter was a disaster on defense and Bonn took off in an unthinkable way with a 17-1 run: 48-64.

In the last quarter Tambone and Halilovic lead the comeback. Sassari gets to 68-71 at 36' but the center of Banco goes out for 5 fouls. Bonn returns to strike from below and Pape digs the gap: 77-68 with one hundred seconds to go.
