Duran Duran are back in Sanremo.

"We have just closed and we have the final approval: after 40 years, Duran Duran will return to the Ariston on Thursday evening , an extraordinary band of music from yesterday, today and tomorrow, a timeless band, very welcome international guests of the third evening". The artistic director of the festival Carlo Conti announced it live on Tg1 at 8pm, prefaced by the fact that he will amaze everyone "with special effects".

The British band will have three dates in Italy: in Rome at the Circo Massimo on Sunday 15 June and Monday 16 June, at the Fiera del Levante in Bari on 18 June and at the I-DAYS Milano at the Ippodromo Snai San Siro on Friday 20 June.

Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, Duran Duran – formed in Birmingham in 1978 – have sold more than 100 million records worldwide during their nearly five-decade career . With 18 US chart singles, 21 UK Top 20 hits and repeat Italian chart successes, most recently with their latest studio album, the band have cemented their place as one of the most influential and enduring groups in music history.

They wrote the only James Bond theme song to reach #1 worldwide and have worked with some of the most revered creatives in music, film and television, including David Lynch, who directed one of their most successful concert films. Their many accolades include eight lifetime achievement awards and a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
