From games to works of art and design. The exhibition “ Designing games - THE GAME IN THE DRAWER - drawings, books, prototypes, creations” will be inaugurated on December 5th at 5:30 pm in the Exhibition Hall of the MiC University Library, in Piazza Fiume in Sassari. The exhibition, which will remain open until January 16th 2025 (from 9 am to 7 pm on weekdays), aims to raise awareness of the design and creation of objects that, starting from the idea of the game, become true works of art, design and high-level craftsmanship.
Projects, drawings and works, some still unpublished, created by great 20th century artists such as Edina Altara, Tosino Anfossi and Eugenio Tavolara will be exhibited, made available and kindly granted by the heirs of the three great artists.
Their works are accompanied by an exhibition of works and creations by contemporary artists and designers Genesio Pistidda, Pier Michele Denti , Livio Lai and Claudia Melis of Lai&Melis , who, in taking up the idea of the Game, rework their own designs in line with the tradition of art in Sardinia.
The University Library, a key partner and supporter of the event, will exhibit a review of volumes on the theme curated by the director Giovanni Fiori with the collaboration of the Institute's staff.
The exhibition is curated by Genesio Pistidda , designer, sculptor and creator of the event, and by Francesca Iurato , art historian who created the critical description of the authors.
The CLIC Association - Circolo delle Lingue delle Informazioni e delle Culture with the vice-president Alba Canu and Carlo Consolati, GEA Costruzioni with Raffaele Canu, and the staff of the University Library collaborated in the works and the set-up.
