“An imaginary journey by car along the 195 Sulcitana , the southern state road
Sardinian with all its discrepancies ".

It is the leitmotif of the new album by Malignis Cauponibus , the Sardinian group that comes out today with “Discrepantia”. A journey that pays homage to "black music" and blends it with Sardinian experiences, including rock and jazz influences and tributes to Ennio Morricone.
Luca Marcia, the frontman, tells us something more about the project: “This is an album for those who have spent too much time sitting in front of the PC or behind the wheel of a car to change. Words unspoken, choices not made, thoughts that run fast along the hottest and most tortured road in Southern Sardinia ”.

The project also includes Massimo Loriga on sax, Andrea Schirru on piano, Fabio Tidili on keyboards and Marco Caredda on drums .

“I had fun, we had fun,” adds Marcia: “ It was like a movie . Like asking Taxi Driver, Django Unchained, The Doors, Gentle Giant and JJ Cale to take state 195 to go and break your back at work or simply to take a ride, like a retiree emptied of monotony ”.

Discrepantia is the second album of the Malignis Cauponibus project (“Tavernieri imbroglioni” literally translated) and collects thoughts and reflections on the relationship with the territory that surrounds the artists, between images and deep discrepancies. Not too long ago the Malignis were also noticed by the English magazine Roots' n Reel for their sounds that blend blues, jazz and modern solutions.

"An abrasive blues" , as it is repeatedly described by the protagonists themselves. Many quotes and tributes also in the texts, as in the song S'Arriu Mannu, which tells of the tragic flood that hit the town of Capoterra in 2008. Texts in Sardinian, "but we move among the contaminations of the Sardinian variants, in which inserts of English and French are inserted, and which bends to the needs of sonority". The album is available from iTunes, Amazon and Bandcamp.
