Director Alfredo Moreno's "Lookout" to Screen in Los Angeles

Since the cult film "Rear Window," spying on their neighbors has always created problems for the protagonists. This time, it's a fifteen-year-old girl, Alice, who becomes obsessed with observing the building across the street with binoculars and one evening sees something terrifying that leads her to believe she's "discovered" a serial killer. Alfredo Moreno's new short film is titled "Lookout."

The Sassari-born director, specializing in horror films that have also received international awards, is trying his hand at a thriller shot between Sassari and Los Angeles, with the international premiere scheduled for December 7th in California. The production company is Casablanca Film/Delmar Holding Film. The psychological thriller was written by Moreno himself, along with Adriana Muroni, who wrote the screenplay.

The lead role is played by Isabella Marrosu, a fifteen-year-old from Sassari, making her first appearance in front of a camera. She stars alongside eighteen-year-old Andrea Arru from Ploaghe, one of the most popular young Italian actors in fiction ("Una famiglia perbene" and "Di4ri") and film ("Glass Boy" and "Il ragazzo dai Pantaloni rosa," to name a couple). Cagliari native Giorgia Sarigu, 34, who appeared in "Blocco 181," also has experience. Alessia Pegorer and Alessandro Manca are also making their debut.

In short, after having achieved so much with horror, Moreno seems to be oriented towards other genres, as he demonstrated two years ago with “Life,” a raw and violent story that tells of the degradation of a Syrian boy, Omar, who enters the tunnel of despair.
