Dinamo Women secured a crucial victory at PalaSerradimigni, defeating a tenacious Geas team 69-65 after a truly intense and challenging game. It was a team victory, as demonstrated by the four players scoring in double figures: Carangelo scored 17 points, Richards Poindexter and Treffers 14 each. Turel scored 9 points.
An intense first quarter, with some errors, but great competitiveness. It was a tight affair. In the second quarter, Dinamo Women ran a 10-0 run, thanks to three-pointers from Poindexter and Carangelo. Geas responded and closed to within 4, with Treffers making a strong statement from deep: 34-25 at the 17th minute. Cornelie brought the score back, and Richards, on a breakaway at the buzzer, sealed the halftime score: 38-35.
In the third quarter, Sassari finally managed to pull away at the 27th minute, even going up 12 points with Turel. The Milanese team responded again and got back into the game with an 8-0 run.
In the final quarter, Geas' defense became stifling, and the home offense struggled: 56-56 at the 34th minute. Coach Citrini relied on a top five, with Poindexter at guard, and on the zone: it was the American, along with Carangelo, who helped the team regain momentum with baskets from beyond the arc, an 8-0 run with the help of Treffers.
The visitors tried to get back into the game: 66-62 in the 38th minute with Attrura's free throw. But in the final minutes, Dinamo Women grabbed crucial offensive rebounds (Carangelo's was a key one) to extend the game and then close it out with Treffel scoring from underneath.
