"We're waiting for you at Achi's house" is the banner displayed in the section behind the benches of the PalaSerradimigni. "Forza Achille" is the banner displayed by the Commando supporters in section D. Before the match against Dolomiti Energi Trentino, a long and warm round of applause was given to Achille Polonara.
The winger from the Marche, who agreed two months ago with president Sardara to return to Sassari where he played two seasons, winning a European Cup in 2019 , has returned to his home in Bologna to his wife and children after being hospitalized at Sant'Orsola.
Polonara underwent a bone marrow transplant to tame his myeloid leukemia and also went through some truly dramatic moments, such as a ten-day coma, from which he recovered. Sassari and Sardinia are his home, and everyone awaits his return to the field.
