Demis Cavina is no longer the coach of Banco di Sardegna. He is replaced by the Bolognese Piero Bucchi, 63, currently deputy to Meo Sacchetti in the national team. With a very brief press release, the company first announced the divorce: "The working relationship with coach Demis Cavina has ended: to Demis, a professional with a high profile and strong human skills, sincere thanks from the company for the work done in these months and the wish for a future full of personal and professional satisfaction ".

Then the announcement of the new coach: "Sassari will be the eighth place in Serie A led by the Bolognese coach". Piero Bucchi in fact led Treviso (2000 Italian Cup and 2001 Super Cup), Rome, Naples (2006 Italian Cup), Milan, Brindisi, Pesaro and Cantù. He also obtained four promotions in the top flight on the bench of Rimini, Naples, Brindisi and Rome (where Massimo Chessa, who returned to Sassari this year, played).

What is certain is that the club seems willing to straighten out the season without beating around the bush, as is also shown by the return of Croatian winger Filip Kruslin
