Here's the first win of the season. Dinamo earned it at PalaSerradimigni in the second game of the FIBA Europe Cup, defeating Romanian side Valcea. The win, in addition to keeping the Sassari team alive in the European Cup, will hopefully unleash Bulleri's squad mentally. In a strong team performance, Buie dominated with a monster performance: 38 points, 8-of-10 three-pointers, and 7 assists.
Report - The match started off looking like a battle between Buie (10 points) and Kiss (8): 14-14 after 5 minutes. Thomas also joined the fast-paced game, hitting two threes for a six-point lead. In the second quarter, the small forward line (Thomas as center) performed better than the two big men, also because Buie was very inspired: 44-40 after 17 minutes and already had a 17-point lead. The Romanians responded with Pinckney, who almost never missed.
In the third quarter, Buie continued the show and Dinamo took off, but they stopped at the most important moment (59-47 at 23') and went on a 10-0 run. They tried to get back in front with Buie and Marshall, but Lecombe was just as hot: 70-65.
Banco tries to close the game by accelerating in the final quarter, also increasing the pressure on defense: they go up by 12 in the 34th minute with Johnson on the counterattack. Dinamo continues to accelerate, and Valcea falls behind.
