Dinamo and Torres twins in their struggle for survival
Different sports but almost overlapping seasons for the two Sassari teamsPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
Sassari's basketball and soccer teams continue to struggle to secure a place in the league that seems within reach, but eludes them every time. Dinamo and Torres have had almost identical seasons.
Both teams started terribly: last place after a 0-5 record in basketball and last place after 12 rounds with just 7 points in football. Both teams changed coaches: Bulleri was replaced at Banco by Croatian Mrsic, while the rossoblù recalled Greco in place of Pazienza.
Another coincidence: in both leagues, one team was excluded in the first half of the season, resulting in an odd number of teams. Serie A basketball lost Trapani, while Serie C football is without Rimini.
Both Dinamo and Torres subsequently made changes to key players, sometimes for technical reasons, sometimes at the request of the players themselves. The white-and-blue basketball team saw Pullen and Johnson leave, while Visconti and Macon arrived. The red-and-blue soccer team said goodbye to forwards Starita and Musso and welcomed forwards Sorrentino and Luciani.
The only slight difference is in the injuries that objectively affected Banco di Sardegna more (Marshall out for three months and rarely all six foreigners on the pitch) but Torres also started without Mastinu and has now been without Zecca for a month.
Dinamo and Torres are undoubtedly playing better than they did when they started out and have also impressed against top-ranked opponents, but they still haven't managed to secure three consecutive wins that would guarantee a peaceful end to the season.
