Three million euros to build a digital society with an increasingly smart economy, capable of reducing energy costs and protected from cyber attacks.

SharD-HUB , the digital innovation hub led by Sardegna Ricerche , works on this.

The regional agency, leader of a consortium made up of 20 public and private partners, recently presented the project to the European Commission after passing the Italian selection to become one of the poles of the European network for digital innovation and thus create a bridge virtual between Sardinia and the rest of the world.

An ICT revolution , for companies and public administrations, which moves along three development axes: high performance computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity , to have digital solutions suitable for every type of business - from artisan ones to large industries - and more and more customized to transform the economy and society in a digital key.

Examples of the project are: hi-tech agriculture with robots in the fields, satellite control of crops, irrigation coordinated with weather forecasts and sensors on plants to record their needs and ensure traceability. And more innovative and sustainable tourism capable of combining tradition and innovation, to offer new experiences as well as efficiency and flexibility in bookings, managing to intercept and manage the new needs of the sector such as the intelligent management of anti Covid procedures; smart grids, smart grids that reduce electricity costs and make cities increasingly smart with the intelligent management of energy production from renewable sources and the control of consumption flows.

"On the mandate of the regional planning councilor Giuseppe Fasolino and together with the other bodies, we have built a solid and ambitious project to create a strategic center for Sardinia, capable of connecting to other European hubs", highlighted Maria Assunta Serra , general manager of Sardegna Ricerche .

"We are proud to have passed a first and important selection and ready to face the next steps".
