A grand celebration of traditions, a journey around the world and into Sardinia. Meet in Desulo today and tomorrow for the International Folklore Festival, organized by the Municipality and Pro Loco, which attracts groups from every continent and the entire island . Dance and music, with an event also dedicated to traditional Sardinian masks, an expression of the ancient Carnival celebrated in many Sardinian towns.

Accordion and Dance – Today, the festival opens with a grand parade that will cross the country, featuring groups from Brazil, Panama, Paraguay, and Poland, the masks of Samugheo (the Mamutzones) and Siniscola (the Tintinnatos), and couples in traditional Desulo dress who will welcome guests accompanied by the distinctive sounds of the accordion played by Marco Liori and Maria Basilia Calaresu . The evening will continue in Piazza De Gasperi with performances by international groups and Sardinian ethnic masks. Dance and entertainment will be accompanied by the talents of Peppino Bande and Gianbattista Longu. The grand finale will be the Fantasias de Ballos, which will get the crowd dancing in the square.

The audience will be involved – Tomorrow , more dancing and color will be provided by the folk groups from Meana Sardo, “Norkalis” from Orune, “Città di Oristano” from Oristano, and “San Michele Arcangelo” from Bono. The parade through the streets of Desulo will be enriched by the traditional masks of Neoneli (Sos Corriolos) and the Tumbarinos from Gavoi. A great celebration will take place on stage with the performance of the folk groups, joined by Su Cuncordu Bolothanesu “Santu Bachis” from Bolotana . Then there will be dancing in the square accompanied by the Desulo musician Paride Peddio and the voice of Andrea Zara , talented expressions of the “Brinca” project. Both evenings will be hosted by Giuliano Marongiu . This promises to be a fascinating and engaging two-day event that, in addition to international guests , also includes a taste of the traditional Sardinian Carnival, with the parade of masks from Samugheo, Siniscola, and Neoneli. The presence of the Tumbarinos of Gavoi, who will accompany the event with the rhythm of their drums, adds an added value . Colors, music, and traditions, set against the backdrop of a town and landscape of great beauty.
