Marco Belpoliti and Alessandro Rivali are the winners of the 36th edition of the "Giuseppe Dessì" Prize. The first triumphed with the novel "Pianura" (Einaudi), the second with the collection of poems "La terra di Caino" (Mondadori).

The proclamation ceremony, conducted by Neri Marcoré, was held in Villacidro, the native town of Dessì, the Sardinian writer to whom the award is dedicated.

During the evening, the two special prizes that flank the literary competition were also awarded: the Special Jury Prize to the writer, essayist and screenwriter Dacia Maraini and the Special Prize of the Foundation of Sardinia to the composer and pianist Nicola Piovani.

In addition to the honor of the laurels, the winners of the literary sections - Narrative and Poetry - are awarded a cash prize worth five thousand euros, while the other four finalists receive 1500 euros as a dowry: Eugenio Baroncelli with "The book of thefts. 301 lives. stolen to mine "(Sellerio) and Antonio Franchini with" The old wrestler and other posttemingian tales "(NN Editore) for the Narrative section; Franca Mancinelli with "All the eyes that I opened" (Marcos Y Marcos), Francesca Mazzotta with "The heroes are gone" (Passigli) for the Poetry section.
