Delay, few signatures and insufficient candidates: in Cagliari the Civic Movement stops the elections
The centre-right list blocked by the electoral commission: the report filed with the MunicipalityPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
Insufficient number of signatures and late submission of the necessary documentation. These are just two of the three reasons that in Cagliari blocked the race for the local elections of the Civic Movement list in support of the mayoral candidate Alessandra Zedda, for the centre-right. The third point, as stated in the minutes of the district electoral commission, is linked to the number of candidates which - due to a compilation error - was insufficient : 22 people and not 23 , as the list claimed. All for a name inserted twice to the detriment of another, that of candidate Giuliana Pinna. With the cancellation of the "duplication" - we read in the minutes - Movimento civico found itself with "a number of candidates lower than that required for admission". So the list has come to a halt, with the number of symbols running for the administrative elections on 8 and 9 June dropping from 21 to 20.
But the exclusion came due to two other inaccuracies. The first linked to the "time factor": in fact last Saturday the managers of the municipal offices had conditionally admitted the packages due to a six minute delay in delivery, which occurred at 12.06 and not by midday, as requested. The second, however, is linked to the insufficient number of signatures for admission: "no less than 350 and no more than 700" would be needed, states the law. But on Saturday there were only 283 signatories, of which only 225 were voters in the Municipality of Cagliari.
Enough for the commission to block the list, a decision against which the movement's spokesperson Simone Paini has already suggested an appeal to the TAR.
