Art and creativity to address mental health challenges: this is what “Profondo nero” revolves around, the new project by Sardinian director Roberto Pili, produced by Francesco Pili , which explains how art can be a form of therapy and personal expression, through the significant story of Davide Lai, a historic Sardinian writer, known in the world of urban art as Nero.
“Profondo nero” presents itself with the formula of a documentary film and video clip, already appreciated in the award-winning “Lucy – Un destino da pioniera” . The final filming is currently underway in Rome for the music video of the unreleased, intense and introspective piece, written by Danno of the memorable band Colle Der Fomento and produced by the master DJ Ice One. This composition offers a profound exploration of mental suffering, with incisive verses and dark sounds that capture the essence of the deep “black”, symbolizing psychological pain and inner anguish.
The cast of the docufilm includes iconic names of the Italian hip hop scene such as DJ Ice One, Kaos One and Danno, along with representatives of the Sardinian subculture such as Bboy Lucio and Matteo Prosa, mental health professionals such as Dr. Alessandro Montisci, the president of Asarp Gisella Trincas . Their participation enriches the project, providing unique perspectives on how artistic expression can act as a powerful tool to improve mental well-being and deal with trauma and difficulties, offering a glimmer of light in the path of darkness.
