The first edition of the Officina Film Festival, organized by the Aps Officina Progetti with the patronage of the Municipality, kicks off tonight in Decimomannu . From today to Saturday, September 6th, and from Friday, September 26th, to Sunday, September 28th, the town just outside Cagliari will host a film festival dedicated to social and independent cinema centered on Sardinians and their people.

Every evening starting at 8:30 pm, the spotlight will be on the stage and screen set up inside the "Antica Valeria" theater on Via Aldo Moro. The festival was created to showcase the many local productions and give a voice to those who, despite creating excellent works, struggle to break into the national and international circuits. It will also be a moment to highlight the history of Sardinia, our territories, and our traditions, starting, of course, with the festival of Santa Greca.

The program, however, does not only include screenings : there will also be free workshops on screenwriting with Mauro Aragoni, filmmaking for children with Daniele Arca, storyboarding with Stefano Garau, film make-up (the only paid workshop) with Elide Querci and filmmaking for adults, again with Daniele Arca, the latter scheduled from September 26th to 28th on the occasion of the September festival of Santa Greca.

The event begins this afternoon with a film workshop for kids, followed in the evening by screenings of short films selected by the Cineteca di Bologna as part of the "Visioni Sarde" project. Directors Salvatore Cubeddu, Christiano Pahler, and Carolina Melis will be in attendance.

The second, led by Mauro Aragoni, will focus on writing the second chapter of the short film "Nel segno di Greca." In the evening, there will be a screening of the feature film "Anna" by Marco Amenta. Lead actress Rose Aste will be in conversation with director Mauro Aragoni.

Wednesday, the 3rd, will feature a prison-themed evening , focusing on the miscarriages of justice and social problems such as gambling addiction. The program will begin with "Polvere" by Paolo Carboni, which focuses on the story of Aldo Scardella, and conclude with the short film "Come Quando Fuori Piove," created as part of a film workshop led by Gian Paolo Vallati with the active collaboration of inmates at the Oristano prison. The two directors will be in attendance, and Maria Grazia Caligaris of the Socialismo Riforme Diritti association will also be present, offering an overview of the current prison situation.

On Thursday the 4th, director Mauro Aragoni will discuss filmmaking in all its forms , from behind-the-scenes discussions to the making of TV series like his "That Dirty Black Bag."
