Decay, Todde rethinks the TAR to avoid the polls

Maybe Alessandra Todde will fall, but the final measure could arrive when the legislature has already ended. Out of time. At least, this is what the defense team of the president of the Region is aiming for, enriched in recent days by the opinions of important civil trial lawyers at a national level, who have forced the entire pool to review the strategy.
Up to now, every effort has been made to counteract the provisions of the January injunction order of the electoral guarantee board established at the Court of Appeal of Cagliari: that is, the injunction to pay forty thousand euros as a penalty for the irregularities found in the reporting of electoral expenses, and, secondly, "the transmission of the injunction order to the President of the Regional Council, as far as he is competent, in order to adopt the measure to remove Todde from the office of President of the Sardinia Region, as well as to the Public Prosecutor's Office, given the anomalies in the declarations filed".
Todde appealed against the order to the civil court. The appeal was rejected by a ruling dated May 22 (notified on the 28th) of the first civil section of the Court of Cagliari presided over by Gaetano Savona. This decision substantially confirms what is written in the order of the guarantee board.
The defense team is now busy preparing the appeal. If this also fails, they will appeal to the Court of Cassation. Which could rule perhaps at the end of the year, or at the beginning of 2026. This is why in the corridors of the Regional Council building, especially the center-right representatives are insistently talking about early elections by next summer. Campo largo, on the other hand, is holding back: "As long as we are here, we will govern. In any case, the president has all the credentials to defend herself."
