Despite the doubts raised by the Guarantee Commission , the Sardinian hauliers confirm the strike day for Monday March 14th.

The decision was made during an assembly in Tramatza.

"The no of the organism - explains Andrea Melis, one of the referents of the protest on the island - referred to the national transport strike. Ours is another protest: we have already requested all the authorizations and on Monday we will go ahead with ours. initiative and the principals in ports and in some industrial areas ".

An indefinite mobilization is announced. "But we hope that - explains Melis - a solution will be found as early as Tuesday, the day of the technical table that meets to examine the problems of the sector".

The reasons for the protest are also confirmed: diesel fuel too expensive, impossible for hauliers to make ends meet.

The appointment is therefore for Monday, with heavy vehicles in front of the industrial ports of Cagliari, Olbia, Oristano and Porto Torres. Unrest is also expected in inland areas, in front of industrial areas.

However, there are appeals for the suspension of the agitation. Like that of Confagricoltura Sardegna.

"The unrest foreseen for the next few days in the road transport sector, in addition to the more general inconveniences associated with the handling of goods, will cause even more incisive difficulties in relation to the movement and delivery of perishable agricultural products for distribution, delivery of feed to farms and the daily milk collection ", reads a note from the president of Confagricoltura, Massimiliano Giansanti, also sent to the Interior Ministry, relaunched by the organization on the island.

The regional leaders of the association report that "the crisis situation in the island's agricultural sector is even more serious than that experienced by colleagues from the peninsula, given the contractions in consumption recorded in recent weeks and the drop in prices at the markets" .

Therefore, "in compliance with the right of all workers to express their discomfort and dissent through the tools of the strike, we hope that the Minister of the Interior, Luciana Lamorgese, will ensure the carrying out of the protests and at the same time the handling of agricultural goods ", comments the president of Confagricoltura Sardegna, Paolo Mele.
