The government is fielding 8 billion euros, without deviations, for the Bill and Superbonus decrees launched in the Council of Ministers.

"The goal - explained Prime Minister Mario Draghi - is to relaunch fair and sustainable growth and tackle the labor market", fighting "precariousness".

"The government - added Draghi - wants to intervene right now to prevent the rise in energy prices from translating into a lower purchasing power of families and a lower competitiveness of businesses".

"We expand - explained Draghi - the measures on bills and we intervene in a structural way on the production of Italian gas and to simplify the installation of renewable energy plants".

One billion euros per year will instead be allocated to the fund "for the automobile and its supply chain, which are at the heart of the ecological transition underway".

THE MEASURES - The interventions in the decree aim to "prevent the impact of energy prices from being

too negative for growth ", added the Minister of Economy Daniele Franco at the end of the CDM, illustrating the new interventions including the replication of those already implemented such as the elimination of system charges for both small and large users , the reduction of the VAT rate on gas to 5%, and the confirmation of the protection of the 3.5 million low-income families who enjoy the bill bonus.

The interventions for the "energy-intensive companies", about 4 thousand, are then replicated, also extending it to companies that self-produce electricity by consuming gas. In addition, there is support of over 500 million for gas-hungry people who are about a thousand.

“We expect the big energy producers to share with the rest of the population

the weight of energy price increases, on how we are reflecting on it ", underlined the Prime Minister.

At the press conference, after the CDM, there was also space for a few moments of laughter: "You saw what good ministers I have ... it's a beautiful government", joked Draghi, speaking to journalists, after the speeches of his ministers.

COVID - The pandemic was also discussed in the CDM. “The health situation continues to improve”, commented Draghi. “Intensive care and ordinary hospitalizations are decreasing: the vaccination campaign is proceeding. I want to thank Figliuolo and all the Italians who have decided to get vaccinated ".

For his part, the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza announced: "We have allocated 15 million euros for the families of health professionals who have lost their lives due to Covid. It is a just recognition that Italy owes to those who have carried out the their work to protect the health of all of us ".

The allocation for the family members of the health workers is contained in the Bill Decree.
