Mexico's Day of the Dead and Sardinia's tenore singing, two UNESCO heritage sites that meet.

The embrace between cultures took place at the Mexican Embassy in Rome, at the behest of Ambassador Carlos Garcia de Alba, who involved the Honorary Consul for Sardinia, Renato Chiesa, after being fascinated by the expressive power of traditional singing from the island's interior.

On stage, in front of a heterogeneous and fascinated audience, the Supramonte di Orgosolo choir performed in traditional dress. While the hall was decorated with statues and festoons typical of the Mexican celebration dedicated to the cult of the dead.

"It was a wonderful evening," explains Chiesa, "the ambassador spent important words for Sardinia and highlighted the many similarities between their celebration of "El dia de los muertos" and our celebrations of "Is animeddas" and "Su mortu mortu"."
