The Davide Astori association was inaugurated today in Florence , named after the former rossoblù and captain of Fiorentina who died at the age of only 31 on 4 March 2018 .

Presented in the Sala d'Arme of Palazzo Vecchio , in the presence of the family and numerous authorities, it aims to study and disseminate the history , principles and values associated with the culture of football . On the calendar, the organization of study days connected to scientific, legal and economic subjects, during which funds will be raised to be used for charitable purposes . «It is a particular moment , we have been thinking about a similar initiative in the name of Davide for some time. It is no coincidence that the association was born in Florence, for us it is a second home», said Bruno Astori , Davide's brother.

«We will remember this day for a long time – Mayor Dario Nardella commented. The project is beautiful, it is the natural evolution of these years in which Florence no longer has its Davide. The association serves to give continuity and solidity to the many projects already born . I have rarely had a real personal relationship with the Fiorentina players but I had built it with Davide, there was a relationship of respect and esteem ». «The association is a lean, very concrete tool that can be used to build a network of relationships – added the mayor -. We will support the activity of the association, with our resources». Among those present, the councilor for sport, Cosimo Guccione : «Knowing that this project will bear his name is nice, I'm sure it will fascinate the people who knew him».
