A journey through Africa, America, Europe, and Asia, celebrating the intersection of diverse cultures, rhythms, and traditions. On Saturday, August 1st, at 9:30 p.m., Yampapaya , the multiethnic project founded and led by singer-songwriter David James Hoffman , arrives in Sassari in Piazza Monica Moretti. The concert is the second of three events in the World Music Festival, organized by the Cooperativa Teatro e/o Musica.

On stage, alongside Hoffman on vocals and guitar, will be Frank Ranier on bass and backing vocals, Alex Taborri on percussion and backing vocals, Peace Diouf on guitar and vocals, and Francesca Ciocca on percussion and backing vocals: a lineup that translates the group's international identity into music, through the intertwining of instruments, sounds, and artistic experiences from diverse backgrounds.

The project is based on the idea of music as a universal language, capable of transcending borders and connecting peoples and cultures. Hoffman has forged his own path through numerous international experiences: born in Tokyo, he has lived in Hawaii, Micronesia, the United States, Hong Kong, Beijing, Austria, and Italy. The Yampapaya Tribe has brought its music to three continents, moving between African music, rock, reggae, funk, and acoustic folk. The influence of Congolese music is particularly strong. Lively rhythms, pounding guitars, and a strong dance component of Congolese soukous blend with influences from four continents, giving rise to energetic and immediate world music, in which the groove of funk and reggae meets African guitars, rock, and tribal percussion.
