David Beckham's star is being added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame . The tribute to the former English footballer will take place during a ceremony scheduled for June 12 , the day after the World Cup kicks off. The event in Los Angeles will also be attended by Tom Cruise and Victoria Beckham, former Spice Girl and wife of the Manchester United champion.

“Beckham’s role in the rise of soccer’s popularity in the United States and his enduring influence on sports, entertainment and global culture make this tribute especially meaningful,” Ana Martinez, the ceremony’s producer, said in a statement.

The event will take place on the day of the United States' World Cup debut in Los Angeles.

Beckham is a co-owner of Inter Miami CF, the club that signed Argentine Lionel Messi in 2023 and won the U.S. championship last year.
