The National Fund for Live Entertainment has cut six out of eight dance sector entities from the three-year ministerial mandate, leaving the north of the island almost completely uncovered, canceling programs and contributing to a mass layoff of workers.
The situation was analyzed at the second Assembly of Entertainment Workers in Northwest Sardinia, held in Sassari at S'ALA Spazio Per Artisti, alongside various assemblies across Italy in national collaboration.
The need to reiterate was to imagine another viable cultural system, more just and accessible; to denounce the political attack on independent culture, research, and the use of gender neutrality; to self-organize from the bottom up, collectively and across the board, developing visionary and transparent relationships with institutions open to dialogue, to build a genuine space for collaboration; to build an inclusive movement, open to those who work and support culture; and to develop a shared future, in which culture and artistic practices are truly the heritage of all.
